This week my students were trying out interactive posters with Glogster.(Glogs)
These are examples from last year's No Smoking Day. With Glogster, we can add images, text, videos, sound and graphics to our posters then embed them in our website to share with the class. 
Some of the students were able to extend the activities by taking their own photos which they edited first then used in their Glog.

Easy access to bookmarks from anywhere seems like a great idea to me. Thought I'd try it out with my class next week to see if the students find it helpful.

Lino is a free online notice board where you can stick notes,photos, videos and files.

When you set up your sticky notes, Lino sends you an email reminder to do your task. You can add photos, videos, documents and events. There are many uses and the creator can send the link to others so the notice board can be shared. Ideal for class projects and collaborative working or as a family organiser.

 This is just a fun and yet creative tool for literacy. I'm sure Draw a Stickman will appeal to all ages.

Walkit.com

Just discovered this handy tool.

Walkit.com helps you to plan your walking route and more. You can see how long your journey will take, how many calories you will use, plot on your map, print it out and so much more. They do encourage you to sign up but even the free facilities are really good.

Training the Dragon

Having received a brilliant offer for Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 from Serif, I decided to give it a try.
Quickly, I was set up and able to get going, and now I'm typing my blog post with Dragon. I'm curious about the possibilities for people with disabilities.  This software could be handy for me too. So far, I'm impressed! I still have lots to learn and wonder about using with twitter and social networking.
