Collaborative Tools

This week I've been looking for some new collaborative tools to help with linking across different locations with the community groups I work with.

I'm very impressed with Empressr http://www.empressr.com/ as a presentation tool and look forward to using with groups. There is no way of inviting others to edit but we can get round this by using a group generic account as we do for some projects. We will be able to invite others to view and the presentations can be printed. There is and option for uploading a MS PowerPoint file which can then be edited in Empressr and that's handy. I tried uploading one of my older presentations as a trial and found that I can also embed in my post and website.

Digital Drawing Tools

Experimenting with some new drawing tools and managed a fairly neat cut out of George as a puppy then added an orange background.
This one was created with Pixelmator.

Using similar tools in Photoshop Elements with an older George as subject.

Trying out some room planning tools and finding Planner 5D very flexible and easy to share. Had to fit in a swimming pool of course!

Create Your Avatar

Some of our students worry about posting their photos on social networks and so we have been checking out some alternatives. We really like ClayYourself and found it really easy and fun to use.
