Font De Music

Font De Music lets you create movement and sound to words which you can
then share with a link. Just a simple way to share a greeting.

Etherpad

I found Etherpad this week while investigating some ideas for using with one of my classes.

We need a web based application where we can work on a list for a code of conduct for our network. All the students have their ideas and many are the same so rather than duplicating or having each student create a set of rules each then pulling them together the old fashioned way, Etherpad is a solution.

Similar applications are :http://typewith.me and http://sync.in

Internet Buttons

"Create a page of buttons for someone you know to make it super easy to use the Internet"

I started using Internet Buttons with students this week and they all agree so far that surfing has become so much easier. They are easy to set up and can be accessed from anywhere you have Internet connection.

Video Slideshows with Animoto

Our students this week have been creating short videos with photos they have taken during their projects. We used the free version of Animoto to make videos which were then embedded into the networks and websites for each project.
Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

What Are They Saying?

I set my class the task of coming up with thoughts and speech for a series of these images to challenge their imaginations and inspire a discussion on the effects of smoking. This is one of the ideas they produced.

Isle of Tune

Create musical journeys from street layouts. Roadside elements are your instruments and cars are your players.
This is a great activity and very creative. Some of the examples are amazing. I can't wait to see what my students will make of it.

Burger Stories

This week our students were set the task of creating a story on a burger.
Class Tools offer a wide range of resources and you can use some for free.
There are lots of ways to use this idea and the more adventurous writers can add extra words.
I captured the image with WinSnap when I tried it out but the students were using pcs with Windows XP and restricted software so we did a work around using the Print Screen option, pasted to MS Publisher and created an image. For Vista and Windows 7 - use the snipping tool in Accessories. For Mac - Cmd/Shift/4
