Text2Speech is an easy to use web based application that allows you to create text to an Mp3 file.
There are 4 voices and you can choose the volume setting. It's a fairly basic application but if you need a quick result, could be handy. I uploaded my sample file to a post on our network project and the students had a go at creating their own.
